Moisture-wicking fabric relies on capillary action, the same physical process that makes water climb up a paper towel. The fibers are constructed with tiny spaces between them that pull liquid through the fabric due to molecular forces between the sweat and the fiber’s surface, rather than soaking it up the way an absorbent material would.
